About Monique Walker

I'm Monique and I truly believe in the power of people.  I've spent over 10 years in the health insurance world, focusing on making work better for everyone – boosting how engaged people feel, keeping great talent around, and helping leaders grow. I excel at planning for the future and making sure everyone's performing at their best. A few of my notable achievements are: 

​

  • Boosting organizational goal alignment by a whopping 80% by creating a fresh performance management strategy. We used Workday to make sure everyone was on the same page!

  • Mentoring and sponsoring some amazing folks, helping six employees get promoted and guiding 17 leaders to bigger roles through targeted development.

  • I even earned a CEO Award for training 200 customer service pros through a merger – an experience I will not soon forget.

I’m passionate about designing learning and development programs that make a difference. I use data to figure out what's needed and create environments where everyone can grow and thrive. My expertise covers leadership development, planning for who's next in line (succession planning), performance management, developing talent, and fostering cross- collaboration.

​

Recently, I took some time to focus on my personal growth and giving back. I volunteered at a U.S. start-up, a food bank, a women’s shelter, and helped seniors with dementia care. Plus, I traveled to Europe and North Africa to some amazing places like Morocco, Denmark,  Sweden and Spain.  My travels  really opened my eyes and helped me connect with people from all walks of life.  Ultimately, I improved my understanding of diverse cultures and enhanced my cross-cultural communication skills.

These combined experiences drive my passion for making workplaces better and helping organizations reach their full potential. I'm excited to connect and see how we can create positive changes together!

Performance Process Enhancement

​This practice setup played a crucial role in my preparation to unveil a performance process enhancement called , 'Ready Now - Grow In Role.'The process was developed to elevate organizational discussions around career aspirations and mobility. The reveal first occurred at the HR divisional fair and was followed by multiple mini- presentations during the company's "Spring Fling" festival.

Implemented a series of videos crafted to onboard the organization to the Ready Now - Grow In Role performance process enhancement. These videos emphasized the importance of meaningful performance conversations about career aspirations and mobility, offering conversation prompts and step-by-step instructions for both leaders and employees.

HR Executive Leader Meeting

Presentation

I presented this update to the HR Executive Leadership team on the progress of the performance management strategy, aimed at aligning and cascading goals across all 5,000 employees in the organization. As a result of this strategy, the organization achieved an impressive 80% increase in alignment between organizational goals and strategic initiatives.
